Insight into Backyard Cabins.

Who are Backyard Cabins?

Creator of unique stylish, practical spaces with sustainability in mind.

We want to create a multi-functional space which can be used the whole year, by the whole family whatever the weather; garden office, gym, studio, summer house, treatment room, snug or whichever purpose you choose.

Difference to competitors?

We put a great deal of emphasis on the design. Our company philosophy ‘Design is Everything’ emphasises the importance of this to everyone at Backyard Cabins.

Design isn’t solely looking good (even though our cabins look the best), there is so much more to the design! Spaces must be user-friendly, offering flexibility to change the use of them with little work.

By day one of our cabins can be used as a garden office, then utilised as a yoga studio in the evening and a spare room for your children and their friends on a sleep over. This is the vision for our cabins!

To answer the question in one word, what makes us different ‘style’!

Tell us more about the design?

We cannot emphasise how important this is to us.

Making the end product look as good as it does on paper requires a number of factors.

1. Products – we only use the highest quality materials in all our cabins. Syberian Larch is one of our favourite woods; it’s durable, of super high quality, is one of the hardest softwoods you can buy, it’s resin naturally protects the timber and aesthetically it’s beautiful! Over time the colour will change to a silvery shade which is magnificent and looks incredible.

2. Precision – We must be precise at every stage of the build. We are working on simplifying our builds to be able to offer our cabins in a kit format. Watch this space…

3. Attention to detail – matte black accents provide that little something extra. Matte black bi-fold doors and matte black lighting provide the finishing touch to your garden office, garden studio or summer house. Each cabin has a porch area with external lighting which gives it that wow factor.

Sustainability?

Sustainability is important to us. We want the world we live in today to be around and habitable in many years to come.

Every person and business create a carbon footprint. We want to do our best to minimise our carbon footprint. We carefully select the materials we use and factor in how and where they are sourced, their sustainability and their impact on the environment.

For every cabin we produce we plant 10 trees in the UK with the National Trust. This is only a small contribution but one we believe is beneficial. If every company in the world planted a tree for each of the products they sell, the world would be in a far better place (environmentally) than it is today.

We can still improve and are looking at ways to change our business protocols to have a positive impact on our carbon footprint.

Our Vision

We want to keep doing what we love – creating amazing spaces that are practical and look amazing! However, we want to get better at it!

We want to ‘perfect’ the build process so we can offer cabin kits to enable self-builds for any competent DIY’ers. Enabling clients to be able to enjoy our cabins anywhere in the country and to increase the lead time we can supply our products.
