FAQ.
Here you will find some of our FAQ to help with your cabin project.
How long will it take to build the cabin?
One of the advantages of our exclusive in-house cabin kits is their efficient construction. Depending on the size and complexity of the cabin, we generally aim to complete the build within two weeks or slightly longer for larger or more customised designs. Despite the quick assembly, our cabins are built to last and come with a ten-year warranty for peace of mind.
What is the process of ordering a cabin?
Get in touch with us for a chat, email, or to request an information pack. If you're interested, we'll arrange a meeting, explore options for your space, and provide a quote. Once agreed, we’ll set a work schedule, guide you on preparing the foundation, and request a 60% deposit. Our experienced team will build your cabin, with the remaining 40% due on completion. We’re happy to advise on finishing touches too.
are your cabins sustainable?
Our cabins are designed with environmental care in mind, helping you embrace an outdoor lifestyle responsibly. Handcrafted in the UK, we use materials sourced from sustainable suppliers and incorporate highly energy-efficient specifications. Additionally, for every cabin built, we partner with the National Trust to plant ten trees, further reducing our environmental impact.
Are your cabins suitable for use as a home office or studio?
Yes, our bespoke garden cabins are highly versatile and ideal for use as a home office, art studio, garden studio, workshop, treatment room, or even as a creative workspace. Designed with comfort, functionality, and flexibility in mind, our cabins are the perfect solution for expanding your usable space at home.
What is the warranty for your cabins?

What is the lifespan of the EPDM roofing membrane, and is it replaceable?
The EPDM roofing membrane is designed to last for many years, matching the lifespan of your cabin. It is highly durable and resistant to wear and tear. In the event that replacement is needed, our team can assess the condition and provide a solution tailored to your specific situation.
Can I choose a specific colour or finish for my cabin's exterior?
Yes, we offer three options for cladding finishes: natural, matte black, or patina wood protection. You can select the one that best suits your desired look for the cabin.
It's important to note that the natural colour option comes as standard, while opting for matte black or patina wood protection would entail an additional cost.
Can I see examples of completed projects?
Yes, we showcase our completed projects on our Instagram page and our website. You can explore images and videos to get inspiration and understand our craftsmanship.
Do you offer financing options for cabin purchases?
Currently, we do not provide in-house financing. However, we work with clients to create manageable payment schedules, including a 60% deposit and the remaining balance upon completion.
Are there any restrictions on where I can install my cabin?
Yes, some locations may have restrictions based on local regulations or property features. For example, areas with listed buildings or conservation zones may require special permissions. It’s always good to check with local planning authorities.
Do I need to get planning permission?
While our cabins generally don’t require planning permission due to their height restrictions, we always recommend consulting your local authority to ensure compliance.
Are your cabins comfortable year-round?
Yes, our cabins are designed for year-round comfort. The highly efficient SIP panel insulation in the walls, floors, and roof ensures excellent thermal performance, keeping your cabin warm in winter and cool in summer. For added comfort, we offer optional upgrades such as electric smart heaters and integral blinds to create the perfect environment in any season.
Can I customise the cabin's design to suit my specific needs?
Absolutely! We offer a range of exclusive in-house designs as well as fully bespoke cabin builds. Our experienced designers will work closely with you to create a cabin tailored to your specific requirements, ensuring it matches your style, preferences, and functional needs perfectly.
Do your cabins come with electrical wiring and lighting?
Yes, each cabin includes electrical provisions, such as four double plug sockets with concealed cabling and a consumer unit ready for your electrician to connect. Our cabins feature LED downlights in your choice of matte black or white trims, installed both inside and in the porch area, and operated by a two-way light switch. Internal fittings can also be upgraded for a more customised finish.
Can I move or relocate my cabin if needed?
While we recommend leaving your cabin in its original location, it is possible to relocate it with the assistance of specialists and a crane if necessary. However, we advise careful consideration before making such a decision.
What are the delivery and installation costs, and are they included in the cabin price?
The costs for delivery and installation are already factored into the cabin price, ensuring transparency and clarity in your purchase. You won't encounter any unexpected expenses related to delivery or installation, as these essential services are included as part of the package.
What are SIP panels, and why are they used in your cabins?
SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) technology ensures high thermal efficiency and structural strength. These panels are used in the walls, floors, and roofs of our cabins to provide excellent insulation and durability.
Can I use my cabin as a rental property?
Yes, many of our clients use their cabins for rental purposes, such as holiday homes or Airbnb listings. Ensure you follow local regulations for planning permissions and safety certifications.
Can you accommodate accessibility features for cabins?
Absolutely! We can incorporate accessibility features such as wider doorways, ramps, and additional customisations to meet mobility needs
What kind of foundation is recommended for the cabin?
We recommend a concrete slab foundation or ground screws, depending on your preference. Our team can provide guidance on which option is best suited for your space.
Do you provide additional extras or upgrades for your cabins?
Yes, we offer a range of extras to personalise your cabin, including integral built-in blinds for bi-fold doors, electric app-controlled heaters, LVT flooring with shallow skirting, front decking, custom-colour bi-fold doorways, ground screw installation, and additional side windows. These upgrades allow you to customise your cabin to perfectly suit your needs and style preferences.
Are there any ongoing maintenance requirements for the cabin's interior or exterior?
Maintaining your cabin is essential for its appearance and longevity. To comply with warranty terms, we recommend treating the cladding with a wood protector every 3-5 years and regularly inspecting for wear, damage, or water ingress. Proper care helps prevent weather-related issues and ensures your cabin stays in top condition. Contact us for product recommendations or guidance.
Am I able to incorporate a "green roof" into my cabin build?
Yes, it's possible to create a "green roof" for your cabin with some modifications to the roof structure and the addition of a thicker layer of EPDM. Please note that this option will incur an additional cost, which may vary depending on the size of the cabin. On average, you can expect to pay an additional £800 for this modification.
How do you handle changes to the design once the build process begins?
Changes to the design requested within six weeks of the start date may incur additional costs due to the detailed planning and preparation already completed. All requests must be made in writing, and we will confirm any price adjustments for your approval.
What types of cladding are available?
We offer various cladding options, including Thermowood, Cedar, Siberian Larch, and matte black finishes. Each has unique qualities, and we’re happy to advise on the best option for your needs.
How energy-efficient are your cabins?
Our cabins are highly energy-efficient, with SIP panels and insulated walls, floors, and roofs. Combined with optional upgrades like app-controlled heating, they are designed to minimise energy consumption.
Do I need to maintain the cladding?
Thermowood cladding requires minimal maintenance, naturally weathering to a beautiful silver-grey over time without the need for treatment. However, to preserve the appearance of Euro Larch and Cedarwood or to maintain a specific finish (such as matte black or patina protection), we recommend applying a wood treatment every 3-5 years.
Regular inspections and cleaning will also help extend the life and appearance of your cladding. For advice on the best products to use, feel free to contact us.
